No scsi disks found on dl360 g4 for debian
Hello everybody,
I would like to install debian woody on DL360 G4, but at the partinionning of the disk (raid1 scsi) the prompt tells me that there are no disks found;
What do i miss? What is the good controller driver and how do i install it (floppy?)?
Is there anybody who installed debian on DL360 G4?
Please i need some help! Thanks a lot!

Re: No scsi disks found on dl360 g4 for debian
Hi,
I'm not familar with Debian, but your problem sounds similar to what happens when trying to install early versions of RedHat on new ProLiants with the 6i controller.
Which release of Debian woody are you using ?
I would suspect that if you try the latest point release (3.0r4) that the kernel in this version will have been updated to recognise the new controller in the DL360 G4.
The Debian errata page here:
http://www.debian.org/releases/woody/errata
also mentions details on getting disk controllers working...
Cheers,
Rob

Re: No scsi disks found on dl360 g4 for debian
thanks for your reply,
It is a woody 3.00 kernel bf24.
Do i have to load the driver (which driver) from a floppy even if i have the latest release?

Re: No scsi disks found on dl360 g4 for debian
Hi,
you need support for the Smart Array 6i Raid Controller in your kernel (or as a module). I have not tried it with debian, but maybe the following links are helpfull:
http://people.debian.org/~taggart/proliant/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cciss/
http://lists.debian.org/debian-isp/2005/02/msg00017.html
Regards,
Kai-Uwe
