Notification during failover and rebuild

Incase a hardrive fails, is there any possible way of being notified of the failure and when it has finished rebuilding? Is there an option to enable it, if there is such and option? Thanks!

HPSIM can do this and I think event notifier can do this (not 100% certain though).

I'm a bit new to this, but can HPSIM be used only for notification? Will it do any changes to other parts of the system? Thanks in advance.

Re: Notification during failover and rebuild

HPSIM is the overall monitoring tool from HP. Depending on how large your environment is you may just use event notifier. In my environment we have hundreds of servers so we have one dedicated HPSIM box that watches all other servers. With the latest release you can also just install it on your desktop and it will poll your server via snmp, but you will need the PSP agents installed on the server you wish to monitor.
