Notification if Array fails
Hi All,
We have DL140 G3 with LSI Logic 10168 Raid card configured for RAID1.If I pull one of the drives out to simulate degrading no beep is emitted.I looked through configs not find any setting to enable sound alert. Is it not enabled?
What other options do we have to enable array degrading notifications?
Regards,
Sergei

Re: Notification if Array fails
Install SIM and configure it to email your desired list of addresses.

Re: Notification if Array fails
Back in the days of the old netservers the controllers used to beep when a disk failed the smart array controllers don't.
As andrew said configure a Sim server and have notification sent to you per email instead.

Re: Notification if Array fails
Hi,
I checked SIM configuration for this system but I don't see any option for notification or any sensors for array controller. However there is an option for license number - I guess this option may unlock all of these features?Currently I have list of CPUs, fans /temeprature but it is pretty useless without notification options.I can also use lm sensors myself for these things.I don; think that HP provides Linux tool to monitor this specific RAID controller.
