OCZ Vertex 2 & HP DL360 G7 (P410i RAID Controller)

I am currently testing an OCZ Vertex 2 SSD with HP DL360 G7 but when installed the server shutsdown and the temp monitoring (Temp 27) comes up with reading of -6 degrees. I have adjusted the Thermal Protection in the BIOS and now the fans are on 80%.

Is there a workaround/fix?

Hi VJ.

Did you ever get any responses to your inquiry?  I am experiencing the same issue.  I am using Intel SSD drives.

It seems there is a thermal sensor in drive bay 1.  The SSD drives make contact with the sensor giving a false reading.  I tried tape to insulate, no go.

The other possiblility is that HP has encoded something in the firmware of their drives, that the BIOS or P410i controller detects and passes onto the iLO/IPMI of the system.

Cheers.

Hi all,

Exact same issue here. Does setting the fans to 80% allow the server to operate without shutting down?

Any word on a permanent fix?

Hi,

Last post on the OCZ Forum is a work around.

Since then I have had to purchase the OCZ Deneva SSD's (Enterprise) and this works flawlessly no issues and no tweeks required in the BIOS.
