OS Support on ML110 G3

I recently bought a ML110 G3 which I want to configure as SAN target. I want to install Windows Storage Server R2, but I don't see any indication or documentation anywhere that this server will support this OS. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

The HP ProLiant Upgrading to Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 release notes matrix, there is a ML110 listed with no generation designation, but I found it from the ML110 G3 product manual page, so it would appear to be applicable.

Re: OS Support on ML110 G3

Actually, this list in the Windows Server 2003 R2 implementation manual, shows the G3 specifically. It further lists the features in 2003 R2 as including the SAN storage options...

When looking through the Proliant supported OS matrix,

I notice that there is no specific listing for Windows Storage Server R2, but instead it appears to be a part of the overall Windows Server 2003 R2 package, now whether this translates into the specific Storage Server package you're looking for, I can't answer more specifically than to point you to the docs I found.

The Windows certified server catalog further lists the ML110 G3 with other specifics as a certified solution.

Sorry I didn't answer more specifically in the original answer (I tend to the "certified for the big picture, probably will work" and rather than spending hours looking for a document to confirm it, go with the logical initial answer and back everything up and try it), although I notice that while others are quick to criticize, they weren't so quick to offer any alternate solutions, critiqueing others is so much easier than being productive.

If you need the Quick Specs on the G3, let me know, I have it in a .pdf file.

Hope this helps.
