OS can't see the SATA array on install

I am trying to install win2003 onto a dl320 g4 with a SATA array controller(intel 82801gr). I have manually configured the array, set it as bootable but the os still can't see it. Help. NB. Why is it that the smartstart shipped with the sever can't see certain components built in to the motherboard? i.e the sata array controller?

Re: OS can't see the SATA array on install

Hi Gareth Wilkins,

The Smart Start CD will not detect the onboard SATA Raid controller, The driver has to be supplied during the OS installation using the F6 option.

you could download the SATA RAID Driver from the following link for windows 2003:

http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23534.html

Smartstart cd will detect SCSI and SAS array controllers only.

Regards,
Raj.

And what about Redhat Linux installation with Intel 82801GR Sata raid controller.

I try to install a linux redhat U4 on DL320 G5 with 2 SATA 73 GO Disc on raid mirror. And i'm unable to use driver from support.

Without driver installer show me 2 disc and not 1 logical drive.
