Odd memory count with 8GB RAM

I have a Compaq G1 DL580 that is loaded with 8GB of RAM. POST detects and counts the correct amount, and the server is booted with the /PAE switch so it will recognize the more than 4GB. Displayed memory is 7680MB or RAM, 512MB less that the 8GB that it should be. Any ideas? I looked throught the Microsoft knowledgebase with no luck.
