our company wants to buy this server:
370596-421 Rack ProLiant DL380 G4 R04 Xeon DP 3200-1.0MB/800 (HPL-Backplane, 6i RAID, 1GB)
shall we be able to use these hdds with it:
hot plug hdds:
15000 RPM:
18G WIDE ULTRA3 SCSI LVD/SE
Drive CPN 188014-002
189395-001
189709-001
10000 RPM:
18G WIDE ULTRA3 SCSI LVD/SE
Drive CPN 233806-002
152190-001
154898-001
will they function ok? i need raid5 or raid(1+0) with 'em.
---------question2---------------------------
we'd like also to buy ML350G4 with the _N_O_N_ Pluggable cage.
354611-422 ProLiant ML350 G4 T04 Xeon DP 3000-1MB/800 (non-HPL-Backplane)
I want to use Compaq RAID Array 431 or 3200(made in 2000)
and I've got lots of non pluggable hdds:
36G WIDE ULTRA3 SCSI LVD/SE
Drive CPN 233806-007
189395-001
189709-001
shall i install 'em into the box ok? (i mean power supply and the rails for hdds?)
PICTURES OF THE DRIVES WITH P/N IN THE ATTACHM.

only U320 disks are supported in the internal drive cage - otherwise you risk damaging the hardware, because the drive carriers are slightly different! The specifications have a list of which models are supported.

About the other server question - I have no idea, sorry.

Re: Old disks and RAID-Array with G4 ML350&DL380. plz help! (+)
And what about ML350 G4(non pluggable)+ RAID ARRAY 431(or 3200)+non pluggable disks?
/I heard that 431 raid isn't compatible with the new proliant caused by their PCI-X slot/
thank you for cooperation!

Re: Old disks and RAID-Array with G4 ML350&DL380. plz help! (+)
-------------------------------------
Because Ultra320, Ultra3 and Ultra2 all operate on the Low Voltage Differential (LVD) electrical platform, the protocols are completely data compatible, allowing the interfaces to be mixed and matched with one another. "Mix and match" means all LVD controllers and drives will play together, continuing one of the industry's strongest investment protection stories ever told.

if its true for SCSI3 HOT PLUG hdds with DL380G4 so, why it's a problem for NON hotPlug hdd and ML350+RA641?
somebody, say!
