Overheating

We have several DL360s that exhibit this "problem" .

CIM reports "Internal storage system overheating,Slot2,zone unknown, location storage, temperature unknown".

Firmware is current as are the agents.OS is NT4/SP6.

any ideas anyone?

Re: Overheating

if you look inside the server at the fan that is just above the drives coming off the edge of it there is a (or should be a ) plastic arm...that has to be in place for the air to flow properly...its an air baffle...if it isnt there thermal sensors will detect faulty heat issues...also of course check to make sure that all fans are spinning correctly. if all of these are in place and running you could have a faulty thermal sensor on the system board...

Re: Overheating

Does replacing the faulty thermal sensor require a new system board?

Re: Overheating

Yes you will have to replace the systemboard. If that's where the fault is. There are sensors in the drive cage also.
