P400/DL160G5 does not see any attached SATA disks
I have a very big issue with a P400 controller in a DL160G5 where I have attached 4 SATA drives to which are not seen in any way.
I have received a replacement part from HP because my previous controller didn't see the drives either.
I have upgraded the firmware up to the latest version by installing W2K8 on a normal attached driver to the motherboard and the P400 is recognized well after installing the drivers but the management tool says there are no drives detetcted on the card.
The driver that I have connected are ordinary Western Digital drives, actually the same as the server was delivered with by default, but no HP partnumber.
I have tried to set the drives on SATA I only, which is not solution either.
Can it be that the drives need to come from HP because they have a special tag ?
