P408i-a cache status

Hi,

We have some DL380 GEN10 servers with P408i-a SR controller and the cache status is "not  configured":

HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10 in Slot 0 (Embedded)
Controller Status: OK
Cache Status: Not Configured
Battery/Capacitor Status: OK

In the Controller Manager the option to modify cache settings is not available

In the Diagnose the array accelerator is disabled and:

status=0x00010000

Battery count = 1

Battery status = 0x0001

Disable Flag = 0x01

Re: P408i-a cache status

Hi,

It is not sure if the SSDs are attached to the controller. If yes, then the smart path for SSD would have enabled.

HPE SSD Smart Path is enabled by default when you create an array using SSD drives, hence the controller cache configuration is not available.
In case customer wish to configure the Smart array cache then we need to disable the Smart path from the SSA.

Procedure
1. Open HPE SSA.
For more information, see "Using the HPE SSA GUI."
2. Open the Configure panel by doing one of the following:
• Choose a device and click Configure in the quick navigation menu.
• Select an available device from the Home screen, and then click Configure under the available
options.
3. Select a controller from the Devices menu.
The Actions panel appears.
4. Under Configure>Logical Devices, choose the array with logical drives.
5. Click Disable HPE SSD Smart Path.
6. Click Save.

Regards,

KK
