Your write performance will take a hit in RAID 5. I would do RAID 10 over 5, if you need write performance. I am not a fan of drives over 1TB in size. It is alot to recover on a spare drive. I would add at least one spare.

Re: P410i + 2TB drives / RAID5

I have 4 drives in RAID 5 on another server with an Adaptec 5805 controller, and performance is ok.I believe it will be similar.
But I'm not sure if the BIOS from P410 allows me to create a big volume (5.4 TB)from 4x 2TB drives (if it's not over the controller's limit)
The specification did not help
Thanks

the 410 can take 38TB of drives. Your OS might have a limitation. I would not install any OS on RAID 5. Only RAID 1 or 10.
