P420 controller menu crashing after trying to load
I've got a P420 in a Dl360e g8 and it will not load into the menu after pressing F5. the gui pops up with a loading bar but once its done it spits out a linux error::
initramfs unpacking failed: lzma data is corrupt
kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: unable ot mount root fs on unknown-block (0,0)
I upgraded the firmware on the card to 8.32 but im still getting the same error. I'm not sure what else to do about this?

Re: P420 controller menu crashing after trying to load
The firmware on the storage controller isn't the same as the software that is loaded from iLO flash to run Intelligent Provisioning and the Storage Administrator. From the error message displayed, you need to download the Intelligent Provisioning recovery image

Re: P420 controller menu crashing after trying to load
Hi,
Please try
Restart > Press F9 During Boot > BIOS / Platform Configuration > PCI Device Enable / Disable > Smart Array Controller > Enabled > F10 (Save) and restart the Server.
Check and Enable the Array Controller.
Share the HDD Model Number to check the compatibility.
Also reflash the Intelligent Provisioning : Refer : https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c03458406
Update the BIOS and ILO as well.
Then Try re-installing the OS
Thank you
I work for HPE
