P420 in DL380G8
We ordered some DL380G8's with a P420 controller. However the servers have been shipped with drive cage connected to the p420i . The servers are remote from me so I cant look inside , can anyone tell me if the cables connecting the drive cage to the p420i can just be unplugged from the board and plugged directly into the mini-SAS cable slots in the p420. Will they fit ??
thanks

Re: P420 in DL380G8
The DL380p Gen8 420i and P420 have the same mini-sas connectors, but why not using the 420i?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: P420 in DL380G8
Because the p420 has 1GB of cache and the p420i reports none. Thanks for the reply.

Re: P420 in DL380p Gen8
You can have the P420i with ZM (zero memory), 1GB or 2GB cache. The cache module is optional, depending on server model. So you can always add a cache module.
1GB option 631679-B21
2GB option 631681-B21
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
