P440ar: Cache Status Permanently Disabled
I am managing a ProLiant DL360 Gen9 server which has a P440ar RAID controller. I am using ssacli to manage the RAID storage.
I noticed the following error / problem:
=> ctrl slot=0 show status
Smart Array P440ar in Slot 0 (Embedded)
Controller Status: OK
Cache Status: Permanently Disabled
Battery/Capacitor Status: Recharging
=>
[sinan]$ sudo ssacli ctrl slot=0 show detail | grep -i cache
Cache Status: Permanently Disabled
Cache Status Details: Cable Error
Cache Ratio: 10% Read / 90% Write
[sinan]$
There is an Advisory document released by HP: http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c05302924
But I am not sure what to do next. Any suggestions?

Re: P440ar: Cache Status Permanently Disabled
Call HPE support.
Most of the times the replacement of the SSB (battery) will solve the issue.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: P440ar: Cache Status Permanently Disabled
Hello,
Replace the SS battery first, if the problem persists, you need to replace the control card. because the cache module is embedded.
