PCI Card Compatibility
Will a PCI card for a DL380G4 work in a DL380 G5 with the riser option?
I'm looking at adding in a QLogic PCI-X133 HBA, but it doesn't look like it would fit.

Re: PCI Card Compatibility
The optional PCI=X riser supports 2 full length - full height PCI-X 133 cards. See the quickspecs at http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12477_na/12477_na.html#Standard%20Features

Re: PCI Card Compatibility
The standard riser in a DL380 G5 is PCIe only, and a PCI-X card certainly won't fit in that.
If you have the optional PCIe/PCI-X riser, it has 2 full-length PCI-X133 slots, into which your QLogic HBA should definitely fit. This riser also has one PCIe slot, which won't take a PCI-X card.
The part number of the PCIe/PCI-X riser option is 410570-B21.

Re: PCI Card Compatibility
Hi all,
Sorry to hijack your post, but I'm looking to do something similar. I'm planning to fit a 410570-B21 (PCI-E/PCI-X Mixed Riser Cage Option Kit) to a DL385 G5 in order to accomodate a Smart Array 6404 and an MSA30.
Does you know exactly how many PCIe slots and how many PCI-X slots there are in the riser? The HP documentation seems lacking somewhat (or rather difficult to find).
Many thanks.
