PCI-X burst size difference between DL145 and DL585
I am using the same 10GbE LAN adapter on both DL145 and DL585 running linux. My card is capable of 8 split transactions and a burst size of 2K bytes.
However, on the DL145, the PCI-X command register is set to 0x00420007 whereas this same register is set to 0x004a0007 on the DL585.
How come the DL145 limits the burst size to 512
bytes? Is it a HW or firmware issue?
The performances are severely impacted by this
small burst size (e.g.: tx throughput falls from 7.4Gbps to 6.5Gbps)
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: PCI-X burst size difference between DL145 and DL585
What kind of NIC is it? cause DL 145 and 585 come with different NICs by default. One has broadcomm NICs and the other has NC7782. so what NIC is it?

The difference is seen for add-on 10GbE NICs, not for the built-in GbE NICs
