PL 1600 With Smart Array 3200

Hi, I have the next problem or error... When I boot the system apper the nex msg: "1721 SLOT 6 Drive Array - Drive Parameter tracking predicts imminent failure the following drives should be replaced when condicionts permit: SCSI Port 1: SCSI IDs 0, 1, 2. Do not replaced drive, unless all other drives in the array are on-line. Backup data before replacing drive(s) if using RAID 0".
Firts this error make the reference IDs 0,1,2 and 5, I replaced the disk in Id 5 cause this disk in the survey present a lot error... I have to replaced all the disk ?, This and RAID 5 + Spare.

Run Update for all HDD and Array Controller (3200 latest - 4.50) Firmware

Create diskette #1 and it will tell you which one is needed next or go by TXT file

If need firmware for 3200 use diskette #1

Hi

Please check if the server has a SCSI backplane. If there is one please reseat the same and restart the server.
Now that you updated the firmware i think this is one last thing we can try.

Hi.

This server has a lot of problem, the backplane was change. The principal problem with this server was the DLT unit. After the upgrades of fw, the error 1720 apper.

Some Ing. recomended the erase the RAID, and other recomended change the disk... one bye one.

Are these HP/Compaq drives attached to the 3200? Sometimes when third party drives are attached it will incorrectly report problems with drives (usually predictive failures).

Another thing you will want to look at will be applying the M&P (monitoring and performance) patch. It could be the issue described in this advisory:
