PL800 Win2000/FC4 w/ wireless and usb controller

I recently a couple Proliant 800 servers, one 6/400 with 2 400mhz PIIs and 200mb ram and another one (6/550?) with 1 550mhz processor and 64mb ram. I went out to CompUSA to buy a couple WLAN cards as well as a couple USB controllers. I have already put an ISA sound card in the 6/400 as well as a USB 2.0 and a wireless card. I have already used the same card under one of my PCIs sucessfully and put it in the 6/400, but it doesnt show up in the Device Manager or in windows at all. On boot, the 6/400 reports an error, "175-ISA Configuration/Slot mismatch. (The ISA Soundcard probably.)" However the sound seems to work fine under windows. Windows also stated that the firmware was too old to run the USB controller. Also I was going to put a 200gb IDE harddrive in there and found out it wont run under the onboard IDE controller. Will any IDE controller work or do I have to use a compaq controler? Also will any pc100 ram work in this or do I have to buy Compaq ram?

Thanks,
Robert Cope

You can try to use other brands as Infenion, Motorola, and Samsung as long it Registered 100 MHz SDRAM.

IDE controllers some of them work some not, wait till someone will POST brand where they have success. When Third Party HW used, best practice show needs of latest system ROM, try to change IRQ, Update system Partition - Hardware Configuration. Use ROM utility from Third Party HW if available; verify firmware for Third Party from Manufacture. Onboard can't be used for IDE HDD.
