PL800 and AS431 - DAAD None Detected
After not being used for a year, the ProLiant 800 with W2k Server was started to update and use.
The configuration was lost, so the external bios battery was installed.
The system has a Smart Array 431 controller with four 18Gb drives configured as one logical drive.
Using SmartStart 5.5, the bios is configured to have SA431 as 1st controller and embedded ide controller as second. Third is Adaptec SCSI with a tape drive. The embedded scsi controllers are disabled.
The DAAD utility reports “Drive Array Controllers: None Detected”
The system will not boot and the logical disk is not recognized.
It worked solid a year ago, battery went dead, and now it will not recognize the drive.
