PXE Boot from a PCIe NIC in Legacy Boot mode

Hello experts,

I have a HP DL380 G9 server with HP  Ethernet 10Gb 2-port 530T adapter. When the Boot mode in BIOS is selected to Legacy, I am not able to select the PCIe NIC for Network Boot. This NIC shows up in the Boot Order only when I select teh Boot mode to UEFI.

The PCIe device is enabled in BIOS. In Legacy BIOS mode, the PCIe NIC is disabled when selecting the Boot Order in BIOS. How can I enable the server to Boot from the PCIe NIC in Legacy BIOS mode?

Thanks in Advance,

Sudhir

Re: PXE Boot from a PCIe NIC in Legacy Boot mode

During POST when the Legacy BIOS emulation screen is presented, the PCIe NICX firmware should be shown as the device is initialized. Something like press Ctrl-S to enter setup should display.  Once inside the NIC firmware, enable PXE on the desired port.

Why are you putting the sysem in BIOS emulation mode instead of PXE booting UEFI?
