Parallel port device drivers

I may need to have the parallel port device driver working in order to get our software to work - I don't really need a physical port but I'm willing to install one if that's the easiest way to get the device drivers running. Any suggestions? Are there virtual parallel device drivers? Are there parallel cards available for this model? If not Compaq can somebody recommend third party?
