Partition problem with SmartStart 8.70B and GNU Parted
Hi,
I installed a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition on a dl360 G7 with the SmartStart 8.70B via PXE.
When Windows has been installed, I wanted to do a Clonezilla (Oneiric version) disk image but it failed. Parted has not recognized my partition and gave me this message:
- Error: Can't have a partition outside the disk!
However, if I use SmartStart 8.70 (without B), there is no problem.
I also reproduced the problem on bl460c G5, G6, G7 and on dl360 G5 and G6.
It's very embarrassing because 8.70B is a recommended update by HP.
On the SmartStart 8.70B release note, I saw this fix:
- Partition alignment on some large volumes that caused small amounts of unused space at the end of the disk
Is this related to my problem?
Does anyone already have the same problem?
Thanks for your answers.
