Password

Hello,
I would like to change the bootup password on my Proliant ML370 - I have the existing password, how do I change it? Also, how do I access the bios of this server??

Re: Password

Hello Terry,

You can access the BIOS with an F10 prompt provided the system partition exists on the hard drives; otherwise you can boot off of a SmartStart CD and run the System Configuration Utility. It can also be run from the system configuration utility diskettes. The Utility can be downloaded from http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/13227.html
The server also has a maintenance switch on the systemboard that will either enable or disable a boot-up password when used.

The location of that switch is on the inside cover of your server.

Re: Password

Thanks Sunil,
We also have a newer server. Everything is working normal but it shows that we have four CPUs whereas we only have two. The BIOS is uptodate and we dont know how to resolve this issue.

Re: Password

Terry,
The only thing you need to do is to get into the BIOS settings and disable the HYPERTHREADING under the Advanced features.
