Pentium II's on ML370

Is it possible to use P2's on a ML370 I want to do a Dual PII 450 Machine.

Re: Pentium II's on ML370

Looks like even the oldest ML370 G1's were built for PIII processors, so PII:s probably won't work.

You would also need Processor Power Modules for ML370 with correct voltages for PII. It is possible that such things were never manufactured.

The next problem would be the BIOS: if the server was designed for PIII, its BIOS will probably not accept PII as a valid CPU.

Re: Pentium II's on ML370

Hi Jason,

The slowest cpu built for ML370 gen 1 is a PIII 667 so unfortualnately there is no way this system board will be able to run PII Cpu's and like Matti said, there would be no PPM's for your specific CPU's available if you could run them on this board.

Try finding some PIII 667 CPU's as i dont think they could be very expensive.

Re: Pentium II's on ML370

correction in above statement.
Slowest for the above server is :
6/600-MHz, with heat sink (heat sink may vary) 166146-001
