Perflib errors and Compaq agents
Is there a known issue between Perflib errors and the Compaq agents (6.20A) ?
I have this Perflib error floods the application logs on my Exchange 2K
servers after the installation of Support Paq 6.20 A.
Source : PERFLIB
Event : 1010
Type : Error
The Collect Procedure for the "MSExchangeIS" service in DLL "C:\Program
Files\Exchsrvr\bin\mdbperf.dll" generated an exception or returned an
invalid status. Performance data returned by counter DLL will be not be
returned in Perf Data Block. Exception or status code returned is data DWORD
0.
I tried to disable the MSExchangeIS performance counters with the ExCtrlLst
tool or with the creation of a DWORD value called "Disable Performance
counters" but it doesn't work. These errors are still logged in the
Application Log.
Thank you for your help,
Best regards
Xavier

Re: Perflib errors and Compaq agents
If you just want a quick fix, in the "Library" value under performace, add a couple x's or whatever, usually does the trick for me.
You can always drop down to a cmd prompt and run UNLODCTR and the dll name. Then if you want just reload it, that might fix it. Here's a little article from MS that might help with that part... http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;156494

Re: Perflib errors and Compaq agents
Thank you Tom for your response but I already tried and the problem is still present.
I posted a message on a Microsoft public Exchange newsgroup and it seems this is a known issue with Compaq Insight Agents.
Is there a fix available from HP/Compaq ?
