Poor disk write performance on DL320 (Mirror IDE)

I do a benchmark test and results are:

Read: 29000Kb/s
Write: 5400Kb/s

The configuration is RAID1 with 2 IDE disks of 80GB.

in a "normal" computer the benchmark results are:

Read: 29000Kb/s
Write: 25400Kb/s

It is normal?

If you really are using RAID1 on IDE disks, I guess you are software mirroring. I would never do this.

If you are serious about computing, Get SCSI disks and a hardware array controller.

I have a IDE RAID Controller, no software RAID. The write back cache parameter is configurable by BIOS during boot?

Maybe..

can you tell us, what raid controller this is? If onboard then probably via computer bios else by tool or controller bios.
