Port Failed Alert for QLogic QLA2340 HBA

I was looking to see if anyone had a solution for how to alert on a non-HP branded QLogic QLA2340 HBA card if it is disconnected either on purpose or accident.

We currently use BMC which does not have this capability from what we can tell. Does anyone have a solution/idea/same problem?

Depends on what the HBA was plugged into. If it's a switch you might be able to configure the switch to send an SNMP trap when a drop is detected. Our brocades do that.

Rob, thanks. I'll have to check with our storage team to see if we can do that. We're looking to see if BMC has a KM for that, if not we may request it.

I'll assign points when I found out if it solves our problem or not..
