Possible failed drive array

Hi,

I tried moving our san to a new switch. After rebooting one of the nodes, I tried to connect to the cluster. It hung, then rebooted and now says the following info when it boots:

1783 Slot 0 Drive Array Controller Failure
[init failure cmd=A5H, err=20h]

1783 Slot 0 Drive Array Controller Failure
[init failure cmd=B16, err=00h]

Specs:
Proliant DL360 G4p
SUSE Linux Server 10
HP Smart Array 6i controller

I'm wondering if moving to the other switch affected the scsi ids? Or if it just failed? Kind of a coincidence...

Thanks for anyones help or advice
Bryan

Re: Possible failed drive array

I would try to re-seat the card first. This has nothing to do with your SAN move - maybe the card is broken or loose now.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Possible failed drive array

I'm having trouble identifying the card. Does anyone know of any documentation that identifies it?

Thanks again,

Re: Possible failed drive array

Looking at the page I reference below, it says "..Designed as an integrated component on the system board on select ProLiant DL ..." so is there a card to reseat? Or should I reseat the SCSI backplane?

Thanks again for any help!

Re: Possible failed drive array

Hi again,
An update. I restared the server after opening the case looking for a card to reseat. After it booted, it showed one of the disks failed and booted on the other one. I replaced the drive and now shows good, but the drive array is still showing failed on my nagios.

Am I going to have replace the board?

Thanks
