If you are sure about the fan failure, you can replace it with the Spare part No # 177903-001.
But, Before you replace the fan, check the fan connection. Some times, this could be the issue with the POWER BACKPLANE.

Re: Post error 16111 in dl580 G1 will it harm...
The ProLiant DL580 server ships standard with four hot-plug fan assemblies. All of the fans are redundant.
The fan 5 is part of the Fan C assembly in DL580 and has Fan 6 is working the server will be working fine.
Please note:
1)Failed or falling fans should be left connected to the system until they can be replaced.
2)If a fan must be removed while the server is powered up, there is a 5 minute period allowed to remove and replace the fan before the server shuts down. (Microsoft windows NT, Unix, sand Novell NetWare)
3)Removal of both fans causes overheating and subsequent server shutdown.
Schedule a downtime and than replace the Fan C Assembly Spare part 177903-001.
Reg,
Raj.
