Power cable in DL380 G4
Hello,
Can anybody confirm (or vice versa) that this part-number 316051-001 relates to the cable in the picture in attachement?
I have a description for the cable: DC Power Cord (pigtail) - For connecting a -48VDC power source to the hot-plug DC to DC power supply - 4.0m (13.1ft) long with 3-pin (M) connector with thumb-screws on one end and stripped ends on the other.

Re: Power cable in DL380 G4
Hi Boris,
As far as I can tell the DL380 G4 does not have a 48V DC power supply option. It is not listed in the system quickspecs.

The G3 does however.
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11473_na/11473_na.html
The G4 also uses a 575 Watt PSU, the G3 uses a 400Watt PSU. The 48V DC Power supply option is also rated at 400 Watt so it would only be suitable for the G3 models.
The cable in your image (316051-001) is the correct cable for the G3 48V DC power supply option.
Details for this option are attached together with the cable colour coding.
NOTE:
ONLY SUITABLE FOR DL380 G3
==========================
I hope this helps,
Brian

Re: Power cable in DL380 G4
Hi Boris,
The 274401-001 is only listed against the G2 and G3 DL380 servers which use 400 Watt power supplies. Do you have any documentation which states that the DL380 G4 uses the -48V DC power supply. I can't find anything to confirm that it does.
Regards,
Brian
