Power from USB ports on ProLiant ML350 G5 and G4
Hi.
I have a problem with the USB-ports on ML350 G5 and G4.
I have connected an external 3.5" USB hard drive to an USB port on theese servers.
The hard drive has its own external power supply.
When i reboot the server, or shut it down and power it on again, the USB hard drives does not start.
They remain off until I disconnect the USB cable and connect it again.
This does not happen on a normal desktop computer or laptop. I can reboot or shut down, and the USB hard drive will turn on when the computer reboots or powers on.
Is it possible to change a setting in the BIOS to change the behavior of the USB ports?
I need them to work in the same way as my desktop computer and laptop.

Re: Power from USB ports on ProLiant ML350 G5 and G4
hi,
You can check, if the USB legacy support is enabled in BIOS, but the USB hard drives are not really supported on proliant servers. Please check the following doc.
Thanks
regards,
