Power supply configuration Error on ML530
We have here a Proliant ML530 (1se generation); with a 800 mhz processor PIII.
The power supply units in it are supposed to be redundant. However, when I unplug one of the power supplies, the server shuts down.
I can turn on the power again, and the server starts booting. However, the following messages appear, and the server won't boot to windows unless the power supply is plugged in again.
This is the error message that appears:
1615 Power supply failure in bay 1
1615 Power supply configuration error. Your configuration requires an additional power supply.
Waiting for another power supply to be inserted.
I should think the server keeps running when unplugging one of the power supplies, since it should be redundant, and even hut pluggable.
Any1 who knows how to solve this?
Tnx
Gert

Re: Power supply configuration Error on ML530
But it has its own power supply.
Does that matter?
I can see there is indeed free space for an extra power supply...
Tnx

Re: Power supply configuration Error on ML530
The Power Supply for the tape drive cage has nothing to do with the server. You certainly need to fill the gap with the missing power supply to have redundancy.
