Power supply redundancy on ProLiant DL380 G5
Hi,
We have a ProLiant DL380 G5 which has recently had its secondary power supply replaced.
Once the power supply was replaced, the LED's returned to normal and the GUI iLO shows it as having two power supply's being OK and redundant.
However on the server itself, hpasmcli shows the second power supply as failed and not redundant. Is there any reason for it doing this, and how do we fix it so it displays correctly?
Power supply #1
Present : Yes
Redundant: No
Condition: Ok
Hotplug : Supported
Power supply #2
Present : Yes
Redundant: No
Condition: FAILED
Hotplug : Supported

Have you tried restarting HP ASM services? On Linux that would be the hpasm service, not sure about other OSes though.

Re: Power supply redundancy on ProLiant DL380 G5
Hi,
We did try that previously, at the weekend we tried a reboot so that would have restarted pretty much everything on that server. It is running Linux, Red Hat 4.

Maybe try a newer version of the health service? What version are you currently running?
