Pre Failure warranty

Hi,

On pre Gen 10 HPE Servers (e.g. DL380) it was possible to see if a hard drive was in a pre-failure state using SMH and then you could request a replacement from HP and replace the drive before it fails.

How can you see if a drive is in a pre failure state on Gen 10 Servers? Does a prefailure get notified in the hard disk status in iLo now that SMH is not available on Gen 10 Server? Is there anywhere else to see HDD pre failures?

Thanks

Re: Pre Failure warranty

Not sure about ILO, but the SSA will show you.

I guess ILO will show it too.

Hope this helps!

Re: Pre Failure warranty

Thanks for your help. Where in SSA do you see pre-failure info?

Thanks

Re: Pre Failure warranty

Hello everyone, I would like to know about the Disk Pre-Failure alerts on Gen10 servers.
We have several Gen8 and Gen9 servers and on all of them, when a physical disk has a pre-failure, the alert can be viewed in iLO (Storage Information).
On Gen10 Servers I noticed that until today we haven't had this kind of pre-failure alert, what happens is the Virtual Disk on which the disk is mounted fails.
So is there or isn't there a pre-failure alert for Gen10?
