Primary NIC being PnP Closed by OS message

Had an issue with a DL740 yesterday with teamed NIC's losing it's connection to the network and the NIC's getting disabled by the OS. I had to remove the adapters from Device Manager and readd to bring it back. Switch port showed up but not passing traffic. Also saw event log message 416 DAC Team (VL2): A Failover occurred: The Primary NIC is being PnP Closed by the Operating System. Simply removing the adapters and adding them back in fixed it but does anyone have any suggestions what it might be? We did find one issue where the switch port was set to 1000/Full on switch A and 100/Full on switch B. Both NIC's were configured to Auto/Auto. We changed it to 1000/Full on both switch and NIC. This appears to be the issue we had but trying to determine root cause. Thanks!
