ProLiant 1600/800 System/Processor Boards compatible?
I have a ProLiant 1600 that's giving me memory errors (ECC). I've tried each of the memory chips one-at-a-time in each of the 4 dimm slots and the identical error occurs. The only thing different is what slot it says its coming from. I've even tried memory chips from an unused ProLiant 800 with the same result.
I'm trying to find out if the System/Processor board (in cage) from the working ProLiant 800 will work in the dying ProLiant 1600. Does anyone know? I just need it up long enough to get the data off it now that I know it's toast. Thanks!

Re: ProLiant 1600/800 System/Processor Boards compatible?
I discovered that both system boards had the same model number, from a label near where the board fits into the slot. I took a gamble and tried it.
The system board from this ProLiant 800 worked in the dying ProLiant 1600.
