ProLiant 1600 Correctable Memory Error Detected

I have a ProLiant 1600 with Windows NT Server 4 SP6 and PSP 6.30. On the Insight Manager console I receive traps informing that memory module 3 has exceeded its threshold of correctable errors.
I run Diagnostics for Windows 4.11 doing all memory tests and I had no errors.
I can also see the errors in IML and in Windows Event Viewer(Event ID: 4208 - Source: SysMgmt). In the IML in the last year the error came 6 times, always for memory module 3.
The question is this: what do I have to trust, the IML or the diagnostics? Do I have to replace the module?
TIA
Ale

If I were you I would change the memmory in question, to avoid future downtime by failure of that same.

Re: ProLiant 1600 Correctable Memory Error Detected

I have a very similar issue:

Compaq Proliant 1600 NTServer 4.0 SP5 with 384 MB Ram ( 128 and 256 Modules).

In Event Log - Event ID 4170
SysMgmt

The Compaq System Management Driver has determined that memory module #2 in slot #0 has exceeded its threshhold of correctable errors. Please contact your Compaq Service representative.

Now I am getting Virtual Memory Errors constantly.

How can I determine if it is the motherboard, or the memory module?

Thanks for any suggestions.
