ProLiant 360 G9 locked up/rebooted
Hi,
First, I know enough about Win management to be dangerous, so please bear with me. I have a 360G9 running our AD Server and a RDC Server on hyper-v. Usually I keep pretty much hands off except for tweeking user accounts and applying regular patches.
This morning, without warning, the box rebooted. I looked in the "HP Insight diagnostics" and Windows Events could not find anything in logs saying WHY it locked up. It seems from HP's sight I need to pay to get HP firmware patches (which is rediculous ... I bought the bloody box, but anyway), but I'd love to know what made it do this. Are there any other logs or utilities hidden away somewhere?
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: ProLiant 360 G9 locked up/rebooted
Ran diagnosis on both logical drives nad both power supplies (only four things in the Diagnosis Log tab), all check out ok. Error and System event logs are both empty.
Was about to say "Management log has old stuff I assume from when the machine was set up in 2015." but just noticed it's not sorted by date but by class. Did find two critical POST Messages at bottom of list:
Option ROM POST Error: 1719-Slot 0 Drive Array - A controller failure event occurred prior to this power-up. (Previous lock up code = 0x12)
Option ROM POST Error: 1716-Slot 0 Drive Array - Unrecoverable Media Errors Detected on Drives during previous Rebuild or Background Surface Analysis scan
I check the boxes, clicked "Set Selected Items to be Repaired" now their status says "repaired."
Maybe that's all there is to it?
Thanks,
Jeff
