ProLiant DL180 G6 E5520 Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O

Hi!

Just a quick question as we haven't found an reliable answer yet. We are using Proliant DL180 G6 E5520 to virtualize different servers. We wanted to plug into the server a USB disk and mount it in one of our virtual hosts (we are using VMWare ESXi 4.0). The problem is that at the moment our server does not support Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O. The thing we are wondering is, whether our server supports Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d) and is it able to turn it on in the BIOS. We do not want to shut down our server just to find out, that our server does not support this feature.

Kind regards,

According to Intel

The E5520 does not support VT-d
