Re: ProLiant DL320e Gen8 v2 is noisy
Hi Norby,
56% FAN speed is a lot more than the 29% that I'm getting with my unit.
Have you tried going into the ROM setup and selecting "Optimal Cooling"? Go to Advanced Options->Thermal Configuration.
Also that pic showing the temperature graph looks very different than mine.

Re: ProLiant DL320e Gen8 v2 is noisy
I'm contacting the ML310e team to get a solution for this model.

Yes, it's set to 'Optimal'. It was the default, the only thing I set was AHCI mode. I use the not-supported Debian, with software RAID.

SolutionHi Norby,
Sorry, I confused this platform with the ML310e Gen8 V2.
The DL320e team has told me that they have addressed the FAN issue on a new P80 ROM dated 11/08/2013. This ROM will be released with the new SPP next week. If you would like to give it a try, I've uploaded the binaries to my temp FTP site.

Re: ProLiant DL320e Gen8 v2 is noisy
Is there a new BIOS for the ML310e Gen8 V2 too?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: ProLiant DL320e Gen8 v2 is noisy
it WORKS!
It has a little noise, but it's acceptable.
Thank you very much!
Btw, it is really from 2013.11 ?

Re: ProLiant DL320e Gen8 v2 is noisy
Hi,
We bought 3 of the dl320e last year,
2 weeks ago one of them started going very noisy,
I called hp support and they said i should upgrade the firmware of the controller,
The newest firmware was already in place,
So i started updating everything else,
I have spent more than a day to find any possible update for that server,
Unfortunately at this point the server is going 100% with the fans,
The noise is unbearable,
It seems that HP doesnt have a solution for this,
Anyone ? ? ? ? ? ?
I have followed a couple of the solutions that hp suggested but still nothing,
Pls someone help me,
