ProLiant DL360

Hello, i having alot of trouble with my HP ProLiant DL360 G7. It somehow shuts down alot of time. Now it dont work with ilo either. When im trying to use the Momentary Press button, nothing happands.
I have heard that you should use some button called "Press and Hold", but i cant find that button.

Re: ProLiant DL360

"Press and hold" is the same button as the normal start button, just that you should hold it in instead of momentarily pressing it.

Are there leds lit? Does it get power? Any leds lit next to the power supply?

Re: ProLiant DL360

Hm.

Have you tried another browser?
Same problem there and also in the iLO SSH?

Re: ProLiant DL360

Yeah same with different browsers, trying from cli looks this:

hpiLO-> power on

status=0
status_tag=COMMAND COMPLETED

Server powering on .......

hpiLO-> power

status=0
status_tag=COMMAND COMPLETED

power: server power is currently: Off

hpiLO->

Re: ProLiant DL360

What if you try the reset instead via the SSH?

Re: ProLiant DL360

can you help me with the command for reset the machine, just get
hpiLO-> reset

status=2
status_tag=COMMAND PROCESSING FAILED
error_tag=COMMAND ERROR-UNSPECIFIED
Server power off.

hpiLO-> reset

Re: ProLiant DL360

Did you check the manual or "help"?

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00294268/c00294268.pdf

Page 27-28.

reset hard
reset soft

in iLO 2. I'm sure there are guides for iLO 3 around too.

Re: ProLiant DL360

Is that the same reset as when you do it in the web gui?, in that case i tried it.

Re: ProLiant DL360

Yes it is. Why not try it that way as well, you may get lucky..

Not much more you can do remotely..

Re: ProLiant DL360

Re: ProLiant DL360

ILO 3 1.20 CLI guide is here:

http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02774508/c02774508.pdf

I don't think there is a debug command.

But there should be a way to restart the iLO, see page 43 in the .pdf above.

Re: ProLiant DL360

Seems to be the same problem, will look into the cli a bit more, thx anyway.
I have had a lot of problem with the same server (of a couple of the same model, and there havnt been any problem with them) It seems to just power of quite often. Atm its just a couple of linux vm that runs on in (its a esxi host)
Havnt been able to find any clue whats causing it. Any ideas of where to start looking?

Re: ProLiant DL360

Well the iLO log might give you some more info.

What about the OS log? Does it say anything or just dies?

If it just dies without any logs it is likely that it's a power related issue.

Re: ProLiant DL360

the ilo event logs just says:

Power-On signal sent to host server by: Administrator.

Cant even find when the host went down. Yeah must be some kind of power failure.
