ProLiant DL360e Gen 8 - RAID in Ubuntu 14.04
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to install Ubuntu server 14.04 in the Dl360e Gen 8.
I configured the Raid to Raid 5 but now the Ubuntu can't recognize the partition.
The Raid controler is the B320i.
I tryed to find the drivers but I only found Drivers for SUSE/REDHAT/Windows (I tried Windows and after running the driver everything is detected without any problem).
But on the product page is said that has support for Ubuntu 14.04
Can anyone help me? Or do I have to disable Raid, wich I really didn't want to.
Thanks in advance

Re: ProLiant DL360e Gen 8 - RAID in Ubuntu 14.04
A driver for 14.04 isn't available yet. An hpvsa driver for 12.04 has been released.

The techical exceptions page which lists the minimum OS requirements and notes shows the system was tested in SATA mode

Thank you for the quick reply.
Just one question can I add the PPA during ubuntu installation??
Because I haven't installed the OS yet since I can't locate the hard drives to do that.

Re: ProLiant DL360e Gen 8 - RAID in Ubuntu 14.04
There is a newer update for hpvsa, this one does support 14.04
https://launchpad.net/~hp-iss-team/+archive/ubuntu/hpvsa-update
As for using the PPA, I'll see what I can find out as I've never used anything from the repository

Re: ProLiant DL360e Gen 8 - RAID in Ubuntu 14.04
hello,
about ubuntu 14.04, proliant dl360e gen8 and the hpvsa driver :
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-certification/+question/214703
on post #23 they say to get the PPA .deb and .udeb driver on usb key
then install ubuntu 14.04 server with that usb key inserted but it's not working for me.
about your raid 1 or 5 installation :
when you configured your raid array, did you install ubuntu straight from the cd,
then install the ppa software afterwards please ?
