ProLiant DL360e Gen8 memory error
Hello community,
On one of my ProLiant DL360e Gen8 has a memory related problem that makes the server reboot. This is the second time (in 30 days) that the server crashes and the same error pops up in the Integrated Management Log :
Uncorrectable Memory Error ((Processor 1, Memory Module 3))
I changed the memory module the first time the problem occured, but the same error on the same slot is now back.
That server is a dual CPU with 6 RDIMMs per socket, all of them are populated with the same HP 4gb modules. As I do not use half of the ram on that machine, what would be the consequences of just removing that memory module ? I know that it breaks the rules of how ram should be populated, but as it seems the memory socket itself is faulty what are my options ?
Thank you for your advices,
Cheers,
Frederic

Re: ProLiant DL360e Gen8 memory error
I removed the two RDIMMs from the channel that has the possible faulty socket. I have lost 8gb of RAM but the error is gone.
Wait and see what's next in the IML...
