In some months we will start to move some ProLiant servers to new building so they will be a little bit far from us and we won't be able to check disks, power,... status.
Is there any way to monitor ProLiant HW status remotely through lan console like HP9000 servers?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Carles

SolutionThe DL380G3 servers come with an embedded iLo port. What this enables you to do is have full funstionality, from a remote location.
You can do anything from checking the BIOS, rebooting the server, install files from floppy or cd located on your system etc..

If you need a "Key" to try this, you can get a free trial here (10 licenses for 60 days)

Re: ProLiant DL380 G3 remote monitoring
It seems we have an ILO lisence so I'm going to install it in one server.
BTW, G2 ProLiant's haven't ILO port. Is there any way to perform tasks like remote reboot?

Carles

Re: ProLiant DL380 G3 remote monitoring
You can have the same functionality in almost any of our servers if not all. If it does not have an embedded iLo card, you can also get a PCI RILO board. Same thing, just in PCI card format.
Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition II - 227251-001
Compaq Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition - 157866-001
These 2 cards are for the DL380 G2, if you need them for any other servers, they should be the same card, but post back and i'll gladyly get them for you to be sure.

Re: ProLiant DL380 G3 remote monitoring
Works a treat and it's all free. ILO's add themselves into SIM automatically and non ILO machines can still be connected to across the LAN.
Hope this helps.
