ProLiant DL380 G4 --> POST Error: 1724-Drive Array - Physical Drive Position Change(s) Detected

How do I resolve this bogus drive ID and recovery my logical drive.

I have 3 logical drives; logical drive 2 is the issue and consists of physical drives port 1 drive 3 and port 1 drive 2.

Currently the array indicates port 1 drive 6 is part of the array not drive 2 and has an issue. Port 1 drive 2 is Unconfigured.

Steps I have tried:

1. Swapping physical drives in bay 2 and bay 3
2. Cleared NVRAM w/o disks inserted.
3. Tried other drives

Any suggestions?

Hi,

1724 - Description :Slot X Drive Array - Physical Drive Position Change(s)
Detected - Logical drive configuration has automatically been
updated. (RESUME = F1 KEY)
Recommended Action : Indicates that logical drive configuration has been
updated automatically following physical drive position changes. Select F1 key to resume.

Do you also have 3 Arrays?

It seem like another of these bogus ID issues.

1. Upgrade FW.
Most likely won't help. But you must do it.

2. Backup the data.

3. delete the affectet logical drive / array.

4. create new logical drive / array.

5. Restore data, from backup.

I do have 3 arrays and have updated the firmware with no success.

I will try the other steps suggested:

2. Backup the data.

3. delete the affected logical drive / array.

4. create new logical drive / array.

5. Restore data, from backup.

I'm affraid it's the only way.
There's been a few posts on the subject in the past years.

And so far, I haven't seen any solutions, but what you are going to do now.

I have seen the problem once myself, with this bogus ID. But it was during installation, so we got it fixed in time.
