Hello everyone. Does anybody happen to know the difference between the following HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 storage controllers?
HPE Flexible Smart Array P440ar/2G FIO Controller, 749974-B21
HPE Flexible Smart Array P440ar/2GB Controller, 726736-B21
https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/Getdocument.aspx?docname=c04346247#, page 7
The first one, with the FIO (Factory Installable Option) designation, appears to be around $100.00 more than the second.
Thanks!

SolutionFIO means that HPE installs and cables the card in the server during manufacture. As this causes costs, it is more expensive. I don't think that you can order an FIO card individually afterward.

Re: ProLiant DL380 Gen9 storage controllers
Hi Cali. Thank you for replying.
I assumed that was the case, but you'd be surprised how many vendors appear to offer it as an option.
Thanks!
