ProLiant DL580 Memory Board LED keeps blinking

the memory board led keeps blinking (9) Flashing green

the manual reads:

(9) Board
Off = Power off or locking switch unlocked
Amber = Memory error detected
Flashing amber = Memory configuration
error*
Flashing green = Board is rebuilding
Green = Normal

the #9 green led keeps flashing
so i'm assuming that the "board is rebuilding"
but its been about 8 hours and the server still has not booted

pls advise
cheers

Re: ProLiant DL580 Memory Board LED keeps blinking

Hi,
We had the same problem yesterday and it corrected itself. Today, it is just blinking and blinking.

Let me know if you have a solution.

Thanks!

Re: ProLiant DL580 Memory Board LED keeps blinking

I am experiencing the same issue here. Sorry to reopen an old thread, but I have not found anything conclusive as to why this is happening. Some further info (for my particular situation):

- Started happening after an unexpected power outage (circut breaker tripped on building panel)

- Port 84 code reads "08" and stays there after components appear to initialize (hdds spin up, fans, etc)

- No video, Keyboard

- Series of 8 green lights located by the processor blink continuously (even in standby)

- System does not boot to OS (Windows Server 2008 Enterprise)

I have tried using the emergency ROM jumper settings, the only difference that seems to produce is an alternating Port 84 code 66 -> 69 over and over while the memory board blinks.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me.
