ProLiant DL585 G2 Server

I have a server with an Amber blinking led on the front. I looked it up it states either internal/external health monitor. What tools or places can I look to get this led to go to green?

Hi!

I would recommend checking out the "HP ProLiant DL585 Generation 2 Server
Maintenance and Service Guide"

For a starter you can check with HP Insight Diagnostics if that catches anything.
Maybe HP System Management Homepage gives you any hints as well. The iLO log or maybe the os event log?
Maybe at a later stage you can power on the server and check the system board inside the server for error leds.

Hi Josh,
There are two different health LED for internal and external health.
Internal health led is one in the box sign, It denotes that some internal component is reporting error and server cover needs to be opened for servicing.
The external health LED denotes the status of power supplies. If it is lit then check the power cables and power supplies as they might be at fault.

Thanks for the replays. I ran a SmartCheck and it pointed to bad memory. So I just need to replace a stick of memory.

I found the amber light was linked to a bad memory stick.
