ProLiant ML110 G6 + P212/256MB Controller + an Ext MSA 70
Let’s say I have a customer using ML110 G6 (SAS) and wants to connect an MSA 70 external storage, can we recommend a P212 controller since MSA 70 is compatible with this controller and P212 has 1 SAS external port.
However, when you go to the FAQ link, it says that P212 does not support external drives.

Q: Will the Smart Array P212 support external drives?
A: No. The Smart Array P212 has 8, 6G SAS ports supporting internal/external connections using the controllers x4 Wide SAS Ports.

Re: ProLiant ML110 G6 + P212/256MB Controller + an Ext MSA 70
P800 Controller is not one of the suggested compatible HBA with ML110 G6, P212/256MB is in the specs as a suggested HBA.
P212/256MB is compatible with an MSA 70 in the controller's specs.
Hence, the P212/256MB was recommmended.
